Nayumivik means "a place to own” in Inuktitut and is the landholding corporation for the community of Kuujjuaq. Nayumivik Landholding Corporation of Kuujjuaq was established in 1979.
Kuujjuaq meaning "great river" in Inuktitut, is located on the shores of the Koksoak River 50 km from Ungava Bay. It is the largest community in Nunavik and serves as the region’s administrative and service centre.
