Tasiujaq meaning « which resembles a lake” in Inuktitut is renowed for its high tides.

    Opened in March 2005, the Iqaluppik Hotel is a fully-owned subsidiary company of the Arqivik Landholding Corporation of Tasiujaq. It was extended in 2014 with the addition of a second story and now contains 18 rooms.
